Mobilizing for Haiti-An Invitation
On behalf of the Maranatha Mission department, I cordially invite you to participate in planning for and hosting visiting missionaries Sis Elizabeth "Liz" Proctor and Bro Ecclesiais C. from Haiti. They will stop in Portland August 12 to September 01, 2009.
We would like to do the following during their brief stay: honor Sis Liz, maximize their visit, and raise needed resources to complete several construction projects nearing completion.
Please join us on July 25, present to implement, in concert, the above agenda and lunch is provided. Please R.S.V.P. by July 14 if you are able to attend. We invite, welcome and need your input. Do respond even if you are unable to attend. In the latter case, you may participate in other ways and/or receive further information.

Maranatha has already initiated several friend/fund raising campaigns and encourage you to join us or use our model in your own efforts. These includes:
- Personal, community and corporate outreach
- Host community event (special workshops/programs, dinner/auction) to honor Sis Liz (others to be determined)
- Scheduled speaking engagements (w/free will offering)
This team photo was taken in Kona Hawaii. We are now in Lodgegrass Montana . When we arrived it was snowing quite a change from Hawaii. We will be there April 1 – June 23. We are working at the Crow Indian reservation. The time here will consist of relationship building, training leaders of the clans and serving projects. We will work with delinquent youth, foster home children etc.

HE has done so many great things in Haiti...
Consider this about the Haiti Evangelical and Education Ministry in Nan Kolo, Haiti.
- Nearly 300 students are able to attend school each year. The Bible is the first part of the daily curriculum; the message of hope for a better day, tomorrow and forever.
- In 2008, the feeding program served 7,077 meals at Maranatha School to healthy appetites of children and staff.
- Nineteen people from the local community, including 8 teachers and 5 kitchen staff, are gainfully employed at the compound.
- 26 High School students are able to complete their elementary education with the help of their dedicated sponsors.
- There is a church building on the compound, which serves as a place of praise and worship for the local community. The Pastor, Benito Benoit, was a graduate of the Nan Kolo School.
The work that GOD began in Nan Kolo over 30 year ago still continues because of the commitment of his faithful servant and founder, Sister Liz Proctor; school director, Eclesias Compere; and, the many faithful workers and supporters of this ministry.

She was just sharing with me concerning her day in town on Wednesday, March 3, 2009. They were in need of gasoline for the vehicle as they went out to visit a family who recently lost their 21 year old son to cancer. When out on the road, they were told not to go to Cabaret because of the rioting going on there. The People of Cabaret have suffered much through the storms in 2008 and nothing has been done by the government to help them.With this information, they headed in the other direction only to find three different gasoline stations and they were all out of gas. They were running on fumes. Phyllis said to the Lord, "We are not out here just driving around, please help us find gasoline." So they turned around and headed to Cabaret (in spite of the rioting).Phyllis said, "God is so good; He supplies our every need." They were able to get gasoline, some cash to give to the grieving family and some food supplies for the orphanage; and arrived home safely. Jehovah Jireh - the Lord is our provider!The people of Haiti are in despair. The times are very hard. They are hungry. One woman, who normally never asks for help; had to ask. She said there is nothing available in her town.Sister Phyllis has to provide rice, seeds for gardens, money for funerals, etc. They are also receiving news of possible uprising in Port-au-Prince. If this occurs, it usually only causes more grief.Please continue to pray of the people of Haiti!
